How a Picture Book is Made
Kindergarten - 4th grade
During this presentation, Anna talks about the process of creating a children's book in a way that children can easily understand. She shows projects she worked on as a child and how they turned into the books she makes now.
Anna walks her audience through the steps she goes through to create a book from start to finish. Students learn how she makes her first draft, revises it with her editor, then paints her illustrations. Next she demonstrates how her artwork is printed and bound into a published book.
The presentation will end with Anna drawing her characters and ones the kids have helped her to create. She will leave her sketches with your school for use in the classroom.
A former teacher, Anna easily adapts her talk to the age of the audience and invites them to participate as much as possible. She will speak to audiences of up to 100 students at a time.
